BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR Jul 2019 • Family First off, the Ardèche River probably has some of the most amazing scenery I have seen in my life.... but this post is just a friendly reminder that if you plan on going kayaking/canoeing with one of the companies out there on the Ardèche river, make sure you **ASK QUESTIONS** about the **REAL DISTANCE** of what they are selling you. I wrote a review on one particular company last year (July 2019) after finding-out that we were sold an **8 KM PACKAGE** at a price of something like 84 Euros (for a family of 4 which included 2 kayaks) but when we arrived at the end of the run, we found it was a but short until we realized upon returning to Canada that the distance from the drop-off location to the arrival point was in fact 4. 33KM.... that's far from being 8KM.... as advertized. In my review, I posted an image of the route and you can see in the upper-right corner of the Google Earth screenshot that it is 4. 33KM. I contacted the company to enquire about this 50% discrepancy and I was told "oh you know, that's how all companies do it and everyone has been using the approximated distances from the first kayaking companies long ago when they didn't have the tools to properly calculate bla bla bla".
